The 18C stone cottage, situated off-road in a little row of four, is an ideal retreat for a couple, and is a wildlife lover's dream. It retains a lot of it's original character, including beautiful oak beams. Although historical, the cottage has all the usual up to date facilities needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It consists of (ground floor) cosy sitting room/dining room with log-burning stove. Small fitted and equipped kitchen, including washing machine. On the 1st floor, a double bedroom overlooking open countryside at the rear, and a spacious modern shower room. The cottage is fully equipped for your comfort, including UK/French TV, wireless Broadband INTERNET access, dvd player (with dvd's) cd player,etc. Double sofabed in sitting room, (or two fold-up single beds provided for your convenience). Baby equipment included (travel cot, high chair, stair safety gate) Owners on site.
Outside, there is small, sunny, private garden\patio area for you to take ‘al fresco' meals - with bbq, seating and sunloungers. Beyond the garden is totally open countryside, and we provide free use of two adult mountain bikes for you to explore on (own helmets/safety gear advisable) From the garden you can watch buzzards and hawks hunting and see an astonishing variety of wild birds.
There is a beautiful lake for fishing, riverside pathways and SWIMMING POOL with waterchute, only 1 mile from the cottage! Fishing permit available locally.
